Summers Last Hurrah begins...

Zucchini bread, trip to the lake with friends, bowling, staying up late, all special activities to kick off the labor day weekend. We had hoped to be at the cottage but thanks to Home Depot and their inefficiency we are still a work site. So we made the best of it by hitting Bishop with Shane and Elizabeth and their kids. Molly, the beast, ran to the lake and back, a trip of 7 miles, GO MOLLY! Cassandra enjoyed the sand, she found it very tasty! The kids enjoyed cupcakes that a cute young lady celebrating her 15th birthday brought over to our group, they too found them tasty!
Cassandra did a lot of playing, she really loves playing music on her play table and watching us dance around like fools! She spent time cruising around the ottoman and chairs but is holding off on walking even though she is certainly capable! Soon enough I"m sure.

CMU Football opens the season with a victory

Tailgate by Mom!

Jerry said he was going to join the fellas but they didn't have enough paint!

got the fan paint going!

Danny on the Army climbing wall
A great opening game!

I am sure that the CHIPS can trace the victory, 38-27, to the enthusiastic fans who made the trip up to campus from Brighton. They arrived in time to tailgate and take in the pregame festivities, and even fit in a stop at C&A books to get a T-shirt for Cassandra. It is never to early to start them on the path to college! Jerry had planned to head to the lake but unfortunately the work at the lake house has been delayed by Home Depot, so he will drive the gang home after the game. Super Dad and Super Alumnus!

Splash n' Play!

We kicked off our Wednesday with a breakfast party with our Goddaughter Leah. Cassandra enjoyed a homemade blueberry muffin and Charlotte and Leah had wafffles. After a great planning session for the girls upcoming school year out at LESA we headed off to the Hartland Pool. Leah came with us and that made it extra fun! We were the first ones lined up to go in(got there early to buy my swimming diaper!) and the first ones down the water slide. Only about 40 swimmers were at our session and that made it really fun. Cassandra loved the water and played happily during the whole session. I took Leah and Cassandra hopping around the lazy river and Danny took Cass down the slide. Leah finally got brave enough to go down the slide about 10 minutes before we were done, and then didn't want to stop! Take a look at these photos and I think you will see that Big Fun was had by all!
"excuse me Miss, I have been sitting here for quite a while. Can you please find my waitress?"

"Is this what I ordered?"

"...it's much bigger than those cheerios they have been throwing down here!"

"Hey, I like it!"

"what do you mean I only get one?"

Leah and Charlotte enjoy breakfast. Note Charlotte's Harry Potter cup being displayed with pride!

"I will learn how to use this spoon!"

"darn that one is empty too"

"Do you like my hat?!"

Mr. Prout welcomes the girls and Cassandra to the 2012/2013 school year

Mrs. Burke works to help the girls put together a good schedule

and in every thoughtful quiet moment, Cassandra played some animal noises to lighten the mood!
