Fun with Leah!

this is Leah's favourite colour so I figured I'd use it!  I enjoyed a fitness/counseling walk with Shawne at 8am this morning, so nice! We spent the morning on chores and a costco run, then picked up Leah. The girls did lots of beads, read stories, coloured, played animals and tag, jumped on the trampoline..it was a great day. I snuck out for a quick visit to Karen's patio to catch up before they head up north tonight, then on to Maine. We had a chance to catch up on all our kids and I gave her a good book to read on her vacation.
Then back to the house to fix dinner, I made stuffed peppers which got rave reviews. And now the girls and Jer are watching the Tigers, dressed in their Lions Garb, waiting for the Lions to kick-off at 9:30pm(doubt Charlotte will make it!)
I can't wait to get Danny back tomorrow, I hope that he had a fantastic week. We take off at 7am, with Rhonda and Ryan joining us to get Collin! Should be a fun trip.

Lions and Lakes!

Super Dad took the girls to the last day of Lions open practice,their first game is tomorrow night. They had a ball, and got loads of great pictures. Jerry got to meet Willie Horton and fabulous old retired Tiger and he was thrilled. Molly was excited about Calvin Johnson, and Charlotte's favourite was Matthew Stafford. They saw practice and got autographs too!
I met them at VG's and got the girls and we headed out to Kensington metro park to meet Jake,Cammy, Annabelle and Bella, Cammy's mother. They had taken a walk, and so we headed to the beach for a swim. We ate lunch and visited the farm center too. Another super stressful time. I felt glad that I had run this morning, and had a nice couple hour long coffee clatch with Roseanna to talk things out and prepare myself. I have finished the shower invites, and we are on for August 27. The planning begins!

The saga continues..

Well, Jake had told us he was going to spend the day with us, but based on previous experience, I figured I see them when I saw them...and it's a good thing I did. Molly ran, then went down to Fairway Trails to hang out with Anne, Lila and Emma. She had a great time, and when I went to pick her up at 3:30 Jake still wasn't at our house! Charlotte and I had a nice relaxing morning and a trip to Borders to check out their going out of business sale. We shooting baskets when they arrived around 4pm. We all shot around, then Jake took the girls downstairs to play a Wii game he had brought. Cammy gave me a LONG list of guests for the shower, with no email addresses. So off to Target to snag some invites, because I can't use evites for her folks--Grrr. then back home to start writing them up. We decide to go to Zukey Lake Tavern and treat Jake to his favourite meal-the wet burrito! Our meal is great and enjoyable, and we add a short walk after we are done.  When we get home we chat a bit, then they head back to Cammy's mom's place.  It continues to be mentally exhausting for me, and very emotional. At one point, Cammy said something like "Jake has told me about all the tough things he went through when he was growing up" Jake Hincka? I'm thinking? a tough life? alrighty. Then she goes on to say "but don't worry, not all the things he told me were bad, he remembers a few happy moments" Oh really! Okay! So even though I know it is ridiculous to get upset, it still feels so terrible to sit and imagine that Jake has been bad mouthing his family to this gal for the past 3 years. Jerry says that I shouldn't pay any attention...it is HARD!

Book Club!!

ROOM
That was our read tonight, and it was intense! The story is told from the perspective of a 5 year old boy who has never been out of a 400 sq. foot room. So different and interesting. We had only 4 members tonight, so we had loads of time to talk the book, and talk our lives too. We sat on the deck and enjoyed the summer breeze, then moved to the sun porch to dissect the plot line. Donna made a themed dessert which we all enjoyed. Next up--Patty's choice, Heaven is for Real, a non-fiction best seller!

24 Blissfull years!!!

So 24 years ago today Jerry and I got married! Time flys fast and slow, you know? I think we are still pretty happy, and have survived some challenging times..and still are! I hope we continue to grow together, and enjoy at least 24 more years!
Charlotte and I ran 4.03 miles this morning, and we ran errands together.  We picked up some fun baby items, which Molly especially enjoyed. In the afternoon Charlotte went to the movies with her friend Liz, third showing of Harry Potter, which made her very happy. Then they came back here and played and hung out til about 7:30. Jer and I had the thrilling evening of, wait for it, Going to Wal-mart!
Yes, I know, what a thrilling celebration! But at least we spent time together.

Camp Day!

SPRINGHILL!!! The most awesome place on earth, rain or shine. And boy did it rain! We actually ran uphill thorugh the woods of Copper Country to try to beat the rain(unsuccessful as you can see in the photos!), but it was all good. GOD is present there, and you can feel it! Danny was super happy to not be in the Forts this year, he is in Eagle Creek Lumber Camp, in mash tents with no electricity! Portajohns on the edge of the woods...I told him that was great, because he wouldn't have to brush his teeth for a week, but alas, you bring your brush to a bath house each day and scrub up.
Danny's counselor Eric seems very nice, and we will pray that he has a good week!
